Founded in 1945, Hopkins Medical is proud of its past accomplishments, which include designing the first public health nurse's uniform for the U.S. Public Health Services at the end of World War II.

Producing uniforms was at the time the company's mainstay, but heedful of the urgent requirements of the health care field, Hopkins has vastly expanded its operation to include a wide variety of products and supplies, from nursing bags to stethoscopes, from portable IV kits to infection control containers, and much more.

BALTIMORE, MD - Hopkins Medical Products (HMP), a Maryland-based designer, manufacturer and supplier of home healthcare products nationwide, was honored on its 60th anniversary this year with a Governor's Citation by Maryland Governor Robert L. Ehrlich, Jr. The citation cited the company for "60 years of excellent service to the healthcare community" and expressed "great respect, admiration and sincere gratitude for your positive contributions to our State." Among its wide range of specialty supplies, HMP has become the nation's largest designer of medical bags for home healthcare professionals.

In a special ceremony in the State House, Governor Ehrlich (center) presented the citation to Philip M. Kenney (left), HMP's CEO and president, and Lou Klug (right), vice president.
