Push the power button to power-on instantly. Push it again to activate the backlight, perfect for low-light conditions. Your stethoscope will automatically enter sleep mode after a period of inactivity, or hold down the power button to completely turn off power.
Amplify sounds up to 24 times more than the Littmann® Cardiology Series stethoscopes. Amplification, combined with Ambient Noise Reduction and Frictional Noise Reduction Technologies, allows you to concentrate on the soft sounds you need to hear. Use the + and - signs to increase or decrease sound amplification.

The proprietary Ambient Noise Reduction Technology is automatic. It's always working when your stethoscope is on.
How Littmann® Ambient Noise Reduction (ANR) technology works
Reduces background noise that can interfere with the auscultation experience now up to 85% on average. Ambient noise travels into the stethoscope both through the air and through a patient's body. The Littmann® Model 3100's proprietary ANR technology uses both sources of ambient noise to cancel each other out, leaving only the unfiltered sound of the heart, lung or body sound to be heard.
The LCD display depicts remaining battery life and starts blinking when approximately two days of use remain. Low-battery does not affect sound quality. Changing out the battery is an easy, tool-free process. Your stethoscope automatically enters sleep mode after a period of inactivity. The battery lasts for approximately 60 hours of continuous active use.
